Privacy
Privacy policy
Short version: no cookies, no ads, no analytics, no accounts. A simple counter records which pages are viewed, and if you write to us we use your details only to reply.
When you read the site
Self Reliant Basics does not set cookies, run ads, use third-party analytics or ask you to create an account. To understand which guides are useful, the site's own cookieless counter adds one to a daily tally when a page loads or a button or affiliate link is clicked. Each tally holds only the date, the page address, the type of event (for example "page view" or "affiliate click") and a count. It does not record anything you type, does not use cookies or device identifiers, and does not store your IP address. The request is handled by our own server.
Our web server processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages, as every web server must. We do not use these to build a profile of you.
When you contact us
If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. We use them only to read and reply to your message. They are stored in our inbox and our customer relationship tool (HighLevel), which processes them for us. Sending a message does not subscribe you to anything, and we don't sell or rent your details. Please don't include health details or home security details about yourself or others.
Links to other sites
Guides link to sources and, on some pages, to Amazon or, on product reviews, to a seller's site through a ClickBank affiliate link. When you follow one of those links, the other site's own privacy policy applies, and it may set its own cookies. For example, Amazon and ClickBank use cookies to record that you arrived from an affiliate link.
The site has no newsletter or email list today. If we add one, signing up will always be your choice, with a clear explanation and an unsubscribe link in every email, and this policy will be updated first.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what contact details we hold about you, ask us to correct them or ask us to delete them, by writing to us through the contact form. We keep contact messages only as long as we need them to deal with your request. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or US state privacy laws, and you can contact your local data protection authority.
Children
The site is written for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change how the site handles information, we'll update this page and its "Updated" date before the change takes effect.
